Humans adapt to any situation, no matter the situation, whether natural hardship or anything else. We can live even in extreme conditions that are unimaginable. So there are still several places on the planet that are not for humans to live. However, humans being humans, played tough and preserved despite the immense odds they faced. So here is a list of five of the most uninhabitable places worldwide.
La Rinconada, Peru
The village in Peru has one of the highest altitudes in the world. Anyone who travels here must drive to narrow roads along cliff faces with no guard rails. Being so dangerous, this is not a place for faint hearts. As soon as you get there, you will realize why and how it’s so crazy to live there. The main reason is that the construction of the entire town is solely on a glacier. People mainly move to this place because the town has a giant gold mine.
Pompeii, Italy
It was about 2000 years ago when the city was full of thieves and debauchery, and one day the volcano located next to the city erupted. The eruption was so violent that it vanished all the buildings and the people, so nobody thought there would be any case of rebuilding it. But it happened, and then history repeated itself in 1903 and later in 1944. The city now has a total of 25,000 residents living.
Mêdog County, China
Motuo, Metok, or Mêdog County, also known as Pemako, is one of the southern Chinese countries on the south side of the Himalayan mountains and one of the world’s most remote places. In this area, the moist air around the mountains creates a rainforest. There are no roads because the ground is way too muddy and wet. There are not even any stores or hospitals in case of emergency. Yet, despite all these difficulties, around 10,000 people in this county receive supplies from couriers on motorcycles.
Verkhoyansk, Russia
People of this city lived even when the temperature reached -50 degrees Fahrenheit. This Russian city, with 1,500 people living, is one of the world’s coldest cities. The place is so cold that the Soviets and Russian Czars used this place to keep their political enemies there. The simple reason was that you would starve or die if you ran away. During the summer, the sun shines for only five hours.
The Maldives
Even though this place is entirely a surprise to be on this list, living here is rather difficult. These tropical islands are famously known as paradises for foreigners, especially for couples. However, something you didn’t realize is that most of the country’s population, about 579,330, live in just a tiny atoll of Male. However, the collection of islands could be better when it comes to living. Lack of room and rising water levels significantly threaten this place.
