Halfway to the Grave- An ideal book for Urban Fantasy Fans!

It is likely that if you are an Urban Fantasy or paranormal romance fan, then you must’ve heard about the book Halfway to the Grave. The book by Jeaniene Frost is the first part of the Night Huntress series. If you haven’t but would like to add a book that goes perfectly with the dark and gothic theme of October, then be sure to add this to your TBR!

Blurb

The story starts with a half-vampire Catherine, Cat actually, who kills vampires thinking they are all bad like her deadbeat father. Along the way, she meets Bones, a strong vampire bounty hunter, and they strike a deal. They will work together to hunt down the bad guys.

Things I liked

Main couple

The characters are so good together! Cat and Bones seem so opposite to each other at first. But, after their nice meeting, they develop an intense relationship eventually. They are perfect for each other, and you cannot help but ship them together. Both Cat and Bones have strong and sarcastic personalities. Together as well as individually.

Writing

The novel goes very easily. I can see why this is such a big series. Plus, all the twists and turns? I didn’t expect to find much here, but they are a treat and keep you on your toes!

Characters

The overall writing by Frost is good. But, I’d specifically like to spotlight how she has developed every character, whether it be the main couple or the side characters like the lead’s mother, the villains, etc. Some conversations/scenes between the characters are so sassy and witty!
