1. YouTube was created as a dating site
Yes, well, that’s true. YouTube.com was registered on February 14, 2005, to be a video dating site. It was created as a platform for people to upload films of themselves talking about their ideal companion.
However, when no one was uploading videos after a while, YouTube modified its policy to enable any video.
2. Samsung started as a supermarket
In March 1938, the famed smartphone and electronics company began as a grocery store. Samsung first entered the electronics business in the 1960s.
3. The name Google was coined by chance
The term Google was inadvertently coined; it was initially intended to be called ‘Googol.’ (The number Googol is made up of 1 and 100 zeroes.)
The founders searched for ‘google.com’ instead of ‘googol.com’ to determine the availability of the domain. They loved that name even more, and on September 15, 1997, they registered the domain name.

Every Apple iPhone advertisement is set to 9:41. In 2007, Steve Jobs debuted the very first iPhone at this moment.
5. Nokia used to be a company that sold toilet paper

And their first phone call was to a competitor
It may sound astonishing, but it is true. Martin Cooper, a Motorola researcher and executive made the first mobile telephone call using portable subscriber equipment on April 3, 1973, calling his competitor, Bell Labs (AT&T).
